I am Adam Phlegar, the Pastor to Families and Music at Goochland Baptist Church.  I work with the children, youth, and their families throughout the week, and I lead the music at our 11:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday mornings.

BASIC STUFF: I married an amazing woman, Kari, in August of 2008. God blessed us with our first child, Olivia, in 2011 and our second child, Josh, in 2015.  I grew up in Vinton, VA (right outside of Roanoke) where most of my family still lives. I have lived in the Metro Richmond area since 2002.

I love working with youth, children, and their families, as we help them discover God, and watch them grow into mature, functioning, Christian adults who strive to follow God’s will. I am also passionate about music in the church.  Music is a meaningful way for us to worship and experience God.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” 1 John 4:7-12
